At an altitude of 1,300m, the clear waters of Lake Mantasoa feed our newly installed fish farm: Acipenser.
Mantasoa is primarily a place with a wealth of history. The stronghold of Jean Laborde who decided to set up his first workshops there, Mantasoa became an important town in Madagascar. It produced not only guns, rifles, and swords, but also soap, tiles, paint, crockery …
But it’s mainly an eye catching scenery. Its unique dimension is formed from valleys of red ground called laterite, covered with pines and eucalyptus trees. Malagasy farmers have naturally taken advantage of these basins to plant their rice and vegetable crops, thus completing this enchanting setting.
Due to the protected environment surrounding it, the waters of Lake Mantasoa are of exceptional quality and ideal for producing the best caviar.
